Experiential Learning Workshops
Participants of Dialogue in Silence workshops face the experience of temporarily losing a very dominant sense, their hearing, which creates a dramatic slowdown of everyday routines. The workshops conducted in complete soundlessness help to test one’s limits leading to a tangible experience of combining emotional intelligence and social skills.
Spending two hours in silence, participants go through a series of team challenges facilitated by hearing impaired trainers. The succession of exercises in complete silence creates a range of unpredictable situations similar to many business landscapes. Since it is not possible to use one’s hearing sense, one has to activate a new language of sign and body language as unused potential to reach a set goal. This inspiring experience brings about dramatic insights for professional leaders in their everyday routines.
The benefits are re-enforced by an extended time for debriefing, reflection and consolidation of learning. At the end participants share their experiences, observations, surprises, frustrations and learning. The workshops are emotionally challenging, cognitively demanding and have lasting effects. They focus on the improvement of communication, leadership and team building skills as well as diversity awareness.
Our facilitators, themselves completely hearing impaired, are experts in non-hearing perception and create a learning atmosphere of authenticity, empathy, openness and fun. It is also an opportunity to reflect on one's purpose and productivity in a safe, professional and personal space.
While contributing to leadership development and enhancing human interaction and a mutual understanding, they confirm Martin Buber’s observation that “The only way to learn is by encounter.” Book a customized exeriential learning workshop here.
