Program

Most human communication today happens through an exchange of verbal expression. Still, we unconsciously rely on many of our other senses to express our feelings, read other people, and make decisions and judgments.

How can we communicate our messages in a clear manner and understand others beyond oral communication? How our skill set of communication can be improved by lessons given by deaf people.

In Dialogue in Silence - workshop participants are invited into a world without sound or speech. Temporary deprivation of their usual means of conversation makes them aware of how they conceive of communication, as well as the limitations of expression and understanding. They learn to hear and to listen in the silence.

Vision and physical expression expand their set of communication tools, thereby teaching them to communicate in a whole new way. Comprehension of themselves and of others is a natural consequence of this process.

Parts of the workshop are held in complete silence. The participants are equipped with highly effective headsets to block all sound. They have to listen with their eyes and have to communicate visually.

Deaf instructors share their strategies for communication and social interaction in a soundless world. The focus is less on how we express ourselves and more on how others understand us. This requires openness, empathy and concentration.

As the workshop winds down, the participants take off their headsets and discuss how these techniques foster personal growth and business performance.
